A beautiful round, mapped out to perfection - a beautiful circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

It is recommended to start in the heart of Amsterdam, at the central station or north of the IJ. Cycling clockwise, you will pass various highlights along the way, including the world-famous canals of Amsterdam and the legendary Munnikenweg — cobblestone strip in Alkmaar. After the hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy hours of siren peace in the North Holland Dune Reserve, the polder landscape and the many characteristic North Holland villages and towns. After approximately 127 km on the pedals, you will return to where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow straps?That's perfectly possible! The road route is entirely on paved roads, with a nice gravel segment after 80km, suitable for a racing bike, which you can also skip if you want.

Gravel bike?There is an alternative route with some nice shortcuts and gravel paths, about 20km is different. Still mostly paved road, but for a change a nice one.

Can you cycle this round every day?

Yes, cycle this round whenever you want. You don't have to give a date.

When there are large tours or cycling competitions, parts of the route may not be accessible or may be limited. For this, please check thecycling calendarand on thewebsite of the NDW(does not work on mobile).

Where is the starting location?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a real Ronde location, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

Can you also cycle this Tour the other way around?

Yes, that is possible.

What are the points of interest along the route?

Ferry Buiksloterweg ferry -Sails 24 hours a day, at least 5 times an hour. Sailing time is ± 5 minutes. Free for cyclists.

PWN dune area= To access the dune area you need to purchase a PWN dune card (day card is €2):pwn.nl/duinkaartkopen

Bakkum Dune Reserve= The road at Duinreservaat Bakkum is sometimes under water. If you don't like wet feet, cycle around to the right (inside circle).

Cheese market in Alkmaar= You come across the Cheese Market in Alkmaar. Look atcheesemarket.nlto see when it is better to cycle around this square.

Gravel path= Easy to do on a racing bike (possibly at a slower pace). You can cut off at 78km from Averhorn to the right via Slimdijk to Oudendijk.

The road routeis entirely on paved roads, with a nice gravel segment suitable for a racing bike after 80 km, which you can also skip if you wish.

The road-gravel routehas some nice shortcuts and gravel paths, about 10km is different. Still mostly paved road, but for a change a nice one.

Can you also participate as a group/team?

Yes, that is definitely possible.

Do you have to cycle this round in one go?

You don't have to, you can also do it for several days. Do you do it in one go or do you stay overnight? The choice is yours!

How can you merge individual rides into a whole circle on Komoot / Strava?

1 - Download the GPX files of your individual activities, with Strava this is only possible via a desktop computer.

2 - Merge the downloaded GPX files on this site: gotoes.org/strava

3 - Delete your old loose activities.

4 - Upload a new activity with the merged GPX file.

With Komoot Premium the above steps are not necessary, you can merge the individual rides into a multi-day tour. That is then only visible in Komoot.

Can you exchange or cancel an order?

When placing your order, you will immediately receive the Tour Guide (E-book) and GPX files by email. As well as the donations to the charity, the digital files are of course non-returnable. Orders can therefore not be cancelled or returned.

Events & Social Rides
You cannot cancel your ticket, but you can transfer it to another person. You can do this via the dashboard of the ticket system. Access to this dashboard can be found in your order confirmation email.
